Workers' compensation mediation with Bryan S. Hawkins 20 years on both sides of Georgia comp claims
When a workers’ compensation claim reaches an impasse, the parties need a neutral who already understands the case from every angle — the medical questions, the wage calculations, the leverage on each side of the table, and the human cost of a dispute that drags on. That is the perspective Augusta Mediation Services was built to provide.
Augusta Mediation Services is led by Bryan S. Hawkins, a Georgia attorney who has spent two decades practicing exclusively in workers’ compensation. He began his career on the defense side in Atlanta before returning to Augusta to represent injured workers, and over those years he has settled more than 1,500 workers’ compensation cases. A graduate of the mediation institute at Henning Mediation & Arbitration Service, Inc., he is completing his registration as a Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution Registered Neutral so he can bring that experience to the table as an impartial mediator.
“I have sat in every seat in a comp case except the bench. I know what a fair number looks like to both sides — and I know when a case is closer to settling than the parties realize.”Bryan S. Hawkins
Many disputes stall not because the parties are far apart, but because each side is reading the same facts differently. A mediator who has actually tried and settled workers’ compensation claims can move a room past posturing and toward the real numbers — the average weekly wage issues, the disputed body parts, the future medical exposure, and the settlement ranges that hearings in Georgia tend to produce.
“Would like to thank Bryan Hawkins and staff for their exceptional service, they exceeded my expectations while very professional they made me feel... like my case mattered. I highly recommend Brian Hawkins”
“Everytime we visited his office they were always nice and concerned about what we needed to know. I would recommend anyone to him.”
“Mr Hawkins is a fabulous lawyer. He communicates amazingly, and knows his stuff. Highly recommended!”
Mediation is a confidential, voluntary process in which a neutral third party helps the attorneys and claimant work toward a resolution they choose themselves, rather than one imposed after a hearing. Sessions move between joint discussion and private caucuses, allowing each side to speak candidly. The goal is a fair, durable agreement reached on the parties’ own terms — often in a single afternoon.
Mediations can be held in person at the Augusta office conference room or conducted by Zoom for parties anywhere in the state. Counsel and claimants who lack reliable internet access or video experience — including unrepresented claimants — are welcome to use the office to participate by Zoom.
Augusta Mediation Services charges a flat fee of $1,500 and does not double-book mediation dates. The reserved time belongs to your case alone, so the parties receive undivided attention for as long as the session takes.
Attorneys and claimants across Georgia can reserve a date today. To schedule a workers’ compensation mediation in Augusta or by Zoom, book a mediation online or call (706) 395-5920.
